Svilen Skerlev – head coach and founder of Shun Judo Club – tells the story

"Sports, and judo in particular, are not only an indispensable educational element in the education system, but also important for the well-being of the nation. I will give three of the countless examples of how this happens in the judo hall."
Work and persistence

Children quickly learn that no one can replace you when things are difficult. You can't copy, your parents can't help you, an expensive phone and nice clothes don't work. To get ahead and be respected – you have to rely on yourself and work hard.
2. Tolerance

Often when someone advances and feels powerful, they become arrogant and start behaving badly with others. However, very soon someone teaches them a good lesson. Then boys and girls understand that a person finds themselves in different situations and must behave well with others – the way they want to be behaved with.
3. Responsibility and sharing

Having become members of teams participating in competitions, young adults understand that personal and collective success depends on good teamwork and that one often has to ignore one's personal desires.
