Triumph for Shun Judo Club

On the just-concluded first day of the State Individual Championship for men and women under 23 , Shun's team won 5 medals with its six participants.

All the boys, without exception, were dedicated and very brave in every single meeting held.

The most impressive competition was in the 66kg category. There, the team had four representatives. All of them reached the quarter-final stage.

Despite Anton Yotov's good performance , he almost failed to complete the podium, occupied by three more of our competitors.

Viktor Skerlev grabbed the bronze medal after a very strong match for third place.

The culmination was the final match between the two teammates Boyan Yotov and Alen Hristov, which ended with a big smile from both of them, with Boyan winning the gold medal , and Alen having to settle for the silver .

In the up to 73kg category, we had two representatives , Dimitar Gospodinov and Samuil Ananiev.

With his decisive victories, Dimitar Gospodinov reached the final. The very contested final match was decided in the extra time, where the gold medal slipped away from him by a very small margin. So Mitko remained with the silver /for now/.

Our other representative , Samul Ananiev , who became the Bulgarian Champion for Juniors and Seniors a week ago, now bravely grabbed the bronze medal and so both of our competitors stood on the podium.

Excellent work by the entire team, led by Head Coach Svilen Skerlev and coaches Dimitar Spasov, Borislav Yanakov, Dimitar Stoyanov and Todor Lazarov
