Bulgarian Mark Hristov won bronze in the 73 kg category at the Grand Slam judo tournament in the Croatian capital Zagreb.

Hristov started with success with "vadzari" over Spaniard Jorge Garcia, and then also prevailed with "vadzari" after the extension over Martin Nojak from Slovenia.
In the semifinals, he did not start concentrated enough and lost by "ippon" after just 12 seconds to Moldovan Victor Shterpu.
So in the bronze medal match, he faced Alexunda Raicu from Romania and scored an "ippon" in 53 seconds to earn a place on the podium.
In the 81 kg category, another Bulgarian representative, Dobromir Kaloisterski, was eliminated at the start after losing by "ippon" to Robert Raikai (Hungary).
